This tool uses open-source information published by fuel retailers to
allow you to make personal choices when you fill up.
But petrol price comparison sites already exist... 🙃
Yep, and some of them are great! But they tend to only consider the
lowest pump price...
Rather than just focusing on 💧price per litre, we show you the:
💷lowest total cost (including fuel cost to drive to the
station)
⌚quickest to drive to in current traffic
🌳journey with the lowest CO2 emissions
Now you can decide based on whatever is most important to
YOU!
Where's the data from? ⛽
Fuel price information is taken from a
voluntary scheme setup by the
Competition and Markets Authority. Unfortunately, not
all retailers have signed up to this scheme yet, so the data is not
complete.
Vehicle emission information is obtained from the
DVLA
Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government
Licence v3.0
What methods/tools do you use? 🛠
Everything we use here is free and open source! We use the crazily
good
Mapbox for the
map, to calculate distances and expected journey times.
Note: Total cost and CO2 emissions are approximated based
on an average km/litre and your vehicle's emissions per litre (if
specified) or a UK average. They do not account for variable fuel
consumption and emissions due to traffic.
